Improving Food Safety in Europe: developing rapid tests for chemical contaminants in a new European research project

The mid-term review (MTR) meeting was held on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th of February 2011 in Brussels. The purpose of this meeting was to assess the results (deliverable reports) and progress at half time of the four year project period.

The reviewing was done by two external reviewers and the scientific officer. During this 2-day meeting, all CONffIDENCE Work package leaders (or their representatives) and the coordination team presented the activities and achievements for the period May 2008 – December 2010 in the RTD-, dissemination- and management Work packages.

There was ample time for discussion, questions and recommendations by the reviewers. Overall, the reviewers were very satisfied with the output and progress of the project so far. Their conclusions were summarised in a report. The project participants will address their recommendations in the coming period.
